Family Day 2017
Category : Uncategorized
More than 50 BBTC members, family and friends enjoyed the Family Day in perfect weather. The canteen did a brisk business in sausages, cold drinks, fruit salad and icy poles raising over $100 towards the Hot Shots Court and Hitting Wall to be constructed next to Court 3 early next year.
Fourteen pairs competed in the Fast 4 competition with ages ranging from 10 to over 70. The competition was won in a tight final set by Sally and Chris Hume with Manny Cheung and Phil Daborn runners-up. The fastest serve was made by Tyson Miles at over 140 km/hr and the Balls in a Basket competition was won by Kyle Sheridan whose guesstimate of 102 balls was only 2 out.
Thank you to the committee members who worked so hard to to make the day a success and to Tennis Victoria who supplied prizes, banners and the very popular Speed Serve measurer. A very special vote of thanks goes to Tyson Miles and Kyle Sheridan who organised the Fast 4 competition and the Hot Shots games for young players respectively and also helped clean up at the end of the day setting a fine example for our younger members.
We look forward to our Christmas Breakup on 10th December and another Family Day next year.
