Very pleasing to note that one of the opponents from Box Hill TC said that our players’ parents should be congratulated on their boys’ excellent demenour on court and their sportsmanship.

On Australia Day the BBTC team, Lucy and Phil Daborn competed against Bundoora TC in the Fast 4 competition urged on by a noisy 4 Woman Cheer Squad.
In spite of a great performance by Lucy in the women’s singles and a spirited effort by both players in the entertaining doubles, we were defeated. Phil and Lucy attended the draw for the major Prize of $5000 on 30th January.
Each club wrote their club’s name on a tennis ball and the winning ball was drawn by Daria Gavrilova, again we were unlucky. However, Phil and Lucy enjoyed their Australian Open Experience very much and received an Aus Open merchandise pack for their efforts.
The club thanks them for competing on our behalf.
