BURNT BRIDGE TENNIS CLUB FREE TENNIS DAY

On Sunday 24th February we held our Free Tennis Day as part of Melbourne Tennis Month. About 70 people attended, members and extended families and visiting families interested in finding out about our club. The courts were full most of the day with Fast 4 games, Free Coaching, Hot Shots for the littlies and competitions for the fastest serve of the day. Prizes and giveaways were supplied by Tennis Victoria. The colouring-in table provided a welcome indoor activity and was occupied all afternoon with children working on the pictures of tennis players supplied. A couple of examples are displayed on the noticeboard in the clubhouse. A great time was had by all and we welcomed several families interested in taking part in our Coaching scheme with Daniel and joining our club.

Many thanks to all the members and friends who helped make this day such a success by coming along and providing a wonderful friendly atmosphere, in particular:

Daniel Kittelty our great coach who spent the whole afternoon on the courts coaching, playing and talking to prospective members; his assistant Tyson Miles and the senior Juniors who led play on the courts all day; thanks also to Pat and Deb who looked after the kitchen serving sausages, drinks tea and coffee and icy-poles; Peter and Phil who manned the BBQ; Jan and John who worked so hard to make the clubhouse and grounds look great ; Glenda who looked after registration welcoming all guests and making sure they had their sausage tickets and name tags and Club Secretary Beverley, chief organiser.

Thank you to our sponsors Hocking Stuart who provided the great advertising sign outside the courts, the offices of local MPs Sukkar and Hodgett who photocopied flyers, pictures for colouring and membership forms and Tennis Victoria who provided the games and giveaways.

SOCIAL TENNIS AT BURNT BRIDGE now on Tuesday mornings. Join Coach Daniel and friends for some fun coaching followed by morning tea at 9.30am on Tuesday Mornings. Cost $5 for Members and $10 for Non-members. All welcome. Contact Bev Bencina for more details.
